At UKAT, we understand just how hard it can be to ask for help when you are struggling with opioid or opiate abuse. However, we want you to know that it is never too late to reach out for support and begin your recovery. There are many different avenues of opiate addiction rehab to pursue in the UK.
We hope to remove any reservations you may have about rehab by explaining how opiate and opioid detox and rehab can help you achieve long-term recovery and what happens during our opiate rehab programmes.
What are the different types of opiate rehab?
Opiate and opioid addiction treatment typically come in two forms: inpatient or outpatient rehab treatment. These types of opiate rehab involve different methods and settings for treatment.
Outpatient opiates rehab
You can pursue outpatient opiate addiction treatment at day centre rehabs or regular support groups. Fellowships such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Heroin Anonymous (HA) are typically held in local facilities on a weekly basis. These fellowships follow the 12-step programme and allow you to discuss your struggles during the group sessions.
Inpatient opiates rehab
Inpatient opioid addiction treatment is delivered within residential rehab centres, such as the eight rehab clinics provided by UKAT around England. Our inpatient programme offers professional opiate addiction treatment in a safe and secure environment which is removed from the temptations of normal life.
What happens during inpatient opiate rehab?
If you choose to attend one of our private inpatient rehab centres, you will receive opiate addiction treatment throughout a 7-day, 14-day or 28-day programme. The length of your programme is dependent on your requirements and personal circumstances. Our opiate and opioid addiction treatment is comprised of detox, psychological therapies, holistic therapies and aftercare.
Detox
Long-term opiate and opioid abuse cause significant harm to the body, which is why medical detox will be the first part of your opiate rehab programme. Our onsite healthcare professionals will administer personalised medication, supporting you throughout any withdrawal symptoms until your system is free from opiates or opioids.
Psychological therapies
During opiate and opioid rehab, all clients attend a combination of group sessions and individual therapies. Group therapy sessions are modelled on the 12-step programme and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Attending sessions every day allows you to bond with addiction support workers and your peers.
Our professional therapists utilise the techniques of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) in one-to-one therapy sessions. These techniques help you to identify and interrogate the underlying psychological causes of addiction, teaching you new methods for coping with your opiate cravings, triggers and difficult emotions.
Holistic therapies
Alongside detox and psychological therapies, our opiate addiction treatment also incorporates holistic therapies into your rehab programme. At our UKAT clinics, we offer music therapy, drumming therapy, art therapy, yoga, meditation and many more treatments.
Holistic therapies are designed to heal your mind and spirit from the damage caused by opiate addiction by reconnecting you with your old hobbies or introducing you to new activities to continue after you leave opiate rehab.
How does inpatient opiate rehab treat addiction?
The professional teams at our UKAT rehab clinics treat all addictions equally to facilitate a mutually supportive environment in which you can start to recover from your struggle. Our holistic opiate rehab programme tackles both the physical and mental symptoms of opioid or opiate addiction. By combining different types of addiction treatments, we aim to give you the best chance at making a full recovery through your opiate addiction treatment programme.
UKAT’s inpatient rehab centres do not only benefit from our friendly and highly-trained staff but also our comfortable rooms and healthy eating tuition. Receiving your treatment in a supportive and relaxing setting offers you the time and space you need to heal from your struggles.
Is inpatient opiate rehab expensive?
Here at UKAT, we recognise that rehab treatment is an important financial commitment for many people. However, purchasing legal and illegal opiates or opioids over a long period of time can be hugely detrimental to your financial wellbeing. This is due to the cost of drugs and any loans or debts you may have acquired as a result of your struggle.
Investing in your recovery by attending opiate rehab not only improves your physical and mental health but can also save you huge amounts of money in the long term. Our inpatient opiate rehab programmes are available in different price packages depending on your needs and the length of your stay. We also accept private health insurance as payment for rehab programmes in some of our centres.
Am I ready for opiate rehab?
Sometimes, it can be difficult to know whether or not you are ready to enter opiate rehab. The most important factor in beginning treatment is being willing to address your problems, learn new coping techniques and leave opiate addiction in the past. Beginning your recovery means that you will begin to see how you can enjoy life without opiates and opioids, encouraging you to create new plans for your future.
The next steps after opiate rehab
Whilst opiate rehab is not a cure for addiction, it is a crucial first step on your path toward recovery. Sadly, opiate addiction has one of the highest relapse rates of substance addictions. This is why it is so important to form a recovery plan to continue your recovery once you leave rehab. Thankfully, our team are here to help you stay on track following your opiate addiction treatment programme at a UKAT clinic.
UKAT opiates rehab aftercare
We offer one year’s free aftercare to all of our clients once they finish their rehab programme with us. This involves regular group therapy sessions, our Alumni programme and family support programme. Our aftercare programme helps you stay connected with the people you bonded with in opiate rehab and support your family and friends as you adjust to a new lifestyle free from opiates and opioids.
